Deviation Actions
I just checked, and nobody has ever commented on any of my DeviantArt journal entries. Which raises the question, is anybody even reading my journals? Or is it just that nobody who has read them had anything to say?
I mean, it's not like I expect everybody who reads my journals to comment, but when nobody does it kind of makes me feel like I'm just talking to myself. (Not that I have a problem with talking to myself, but usually I don't do it in public!)

Some house cleaning...
So I've been hearing some rumors recently that DA has been banning people for NSFW art more-so than they used to; accounts vary as to whether the art in question actually violated the site rules. If they really are banning people who didn't break the rules there's no way to be completely sure one won't be affected (particularly if an algorithm is making the decisions, which one person mentioned), but in the hopes that there is some rational decision making involved in these bans, I decided to brush up on the rules and then review my old fan art submissions. I'm glad I did, as the rules have gotten more strict since the last time I checked, and I had forgotten just how much I liked to test the limits of the rules when I was younger. The result: I've deleted a number of my old pictures which I felt could run afoul of the rules, as well as several pictures that were probably fine but I felt like removing just to be safe. (I also removed a few pictures that were meant to tie in with the
No comment?
I was just looking at one of my own deviations, and noticed that comments were disabled on it. I hadn't intended that to be the case, and was rather puzzled by it at first. It's not the only deviation that way, though, so I can only guess that at some point the default settings for my deviations got switched to that without my knowledge, and I never noticed until now. I have way too many deviations to go through them all to see which ones might be set that way, so I'm just going to say it here: if you should come across a deviation of mine you want to comment on and comments are disabled for it, please contact me about it; chances I didn't intentionally set it that way and will be happy to fix it as soon as I get a chance.
Wait, DeviantArt can host videos...
So it just recently occurred to me that I can post videos here. Considering that my super-short nature videos have received no attention whatsoever on Youtube (I guess they're just not the sort of content the algorithm is interested in), but I usually get several people marking my nature photos as favorites, it probably makes more sense to post the videos here.
In light of this I've just posted a few videos here, and plan on posting more in the future.
Posted some videos
So I was at Acadia National Park the weekend before last, and got some video of "Thunder Hole". I've taken a few screenshots from that video, which I'll post here shortly, but they really don't capture the power of the waves, or the thunderclap when they force their way into the borehole. I decided sharing the screenshots wasn't enough, I had to share the video too, so I finally made use of the youtube account I've had for a while.
While I was at it I decided to post the fireworks video I made back in 2015.
